Trespass Arrest Authorization
A Trespass Arrest Authorization filed with the LAPD Division in which you live, along with appropriate signage, is an important tool. Properly filled out and with your property posted, it allows LAPD Officers onto your property to detain and ARREST trespassers even if you are not at home to make a complaint.
A blank form is attached here. Fill in all the information and check the TOP box in the three choices you are given. Make sure you sign the form.
A Trespass Arrest Authorization is good for only one year; set a reminder to renew each year before the one in place expires.
You must also post your property with a sign in clear sight. Signs must have letters of a certain height as detailed on the Trespass Arrest Authorization form. A sign must include L.A.M.C SEC 41.24, it can also include PC 602L .
Here is an example of a sign that conforms to the requirements: https://www.amazon.com/WITHOUT-PERMISSION-LAMC-41-24-Closed-Public/dp/B0716Q2MC8?th=1 .
