NEIGHBORHOOD
WELLNESS & BEAUTIFICATION
It’s good for your health.
Clean and well-maintained public spaces, especially those featuring green areas, have a significant impact on our lives. They are linked to better mental health, lower stress levels, sharper cognitive abilities, reduced crime rates, and a stronger sense of community.
The state of our surroundings directly shapes our emotional well-being. Living in a cleaner city is not just about aesthetics or environmental responsibility; it is essential to our overall quality of life. Studies consistently show that a clean environment fosters happiness and improved health.
We all have the power to make a difference—it's a collective endeavor! Both local authorities and individuals have crucial roles to play. By actively participating in wellness and beautification efforts, we not only uplift our own spirits but also cultivate an even greater sense of pride in our community.
As engaged citizens, we can truly transform our neighborhoods. By committing to neighborhood wellness and beautification, we enhance our mental well-being and strengthen the bonds that unite us, creating an even more vibrant and connected community.
Let's join together and take action for a brighter, cleaner future!

The Mission
Our goal in creating the LUNA Neighborhood Wellness and Beautification Committee is to foster social interaction and community engagement. We aim to organize clean-up events and other community projects that bring Larchmont residents together to celebrate and preserve the unique character of our neighborhood. Participating in clean-up and beautification projects can inspire neighbors to take further action, such as planting trees, creating public art and gardens, and organizing local events that enhance the social wellness of our community. We believe that maintaining a cleaner and safer environment has a positive impact on both physical and mental health, contributing to the overall well-being of our community. We see our committee's role within Larchmont as supplementary to city services, which can sometimes be challenged to respond quickly and effectively. Through our events and initiatives, we hope to increase community engagement and instill in our neighbors a stronger sense of belonging.
